A musical journey made up of eight tracks, each inspired by a short film by Georges Méliès, poet and experimenter, inventor of cinema as a dream, a forerunner in the technique of editing and pioneer of special effects, creator of amazing fantasies.
The music is composed of original compositions with a large space reserved for improvisation.
At the center of everything, as always, is sound.
And then the game, the fantasy, the interaction. A human and sound kaleidoscope full of shapes and colors, in the poetic and visionary spirit of Méliès: apparitions, repetitions and metamorphoses, expositions and fades, magic tricks and magic formulas, journeys to unknown worlds.
Not the soundtrack of silent films, therefore, but a music that flows independently with a duration of its own and dictated by the succession of improvisations and written parts, rich in graphic signs, captions, suggestions and images.
There is no lack of psychedelic tributes to Daevid Allen, founder of "Gong", and harmolodic dedications to Ornette Coleman. With the spirit of Sun Ra watching us from above.
"Méliès" is in fact also an archaeological site, in which fragments of the musical thought of those who came before us can be found, favorite authors of a recent past, whose memories constitute the basis on which this music is based.
A music perhaps no longer - or not only - avant-garde, which wants to consolidate itself in a modern tradition and thus withstand the shocks of time.
